Doggie Cupcakes
Last week I was commissioned to make 12 doggie cupcakes for a girls birthday party.

Bunting Birthday Cake
Today is one of my favourite friend's birthday. Happy birthday Jen! She is very lovely, sweet and pretty - like the cake I've made her...
I've finally got to grips with fondant roses. It turns out the fondant was too sticky, that's why the petals were sticking together (dur). I've now got some magic stuff called tylose powder that stiffens and dries out the fondant. Ta daaa.
Choosing the ribbon is one of my favourite parts of cake decorating - there is so much to choose from and it's nice and cheap!

Pecan and Caramel Slices
These are the most popular goodies I've ever made for work. Most people request these for their birthday and Friday was no exception.
They're from 'Phil Vickery's Puddings' recipe book. Sweet short crust pastry filled with caramel and topped with pecan nuts, hob nobbs and white and milk chocolate buttons.
They're really rich but very tasty. Unfortunately pecan nuts boost up the cost at £2.50 a bag. In the future (if I'm allowed) I might substitute the pecans and hob nobbs for malteasers.
