Pecan and Caramel Slices

These are the most popular goodies I've ever made for work. Most people request these for their birthday and Friday was no exception.

They're from 'Phil Vickery's Puddings' recipe book. Sweet short crust pastry filled with caramel and topped with pecan nuts, hob nobbs and white and milk chocolate buttons.

They're really rich but very tasty. Unfortunately pecan nuts boost up the cost at £2.50 a bag. In the future (if I'm allowed) I might substitute the pecans and hob nobbs for malteasers.
